Message June 29, 2009

This week's meeting will be a green bar meeting. Since we have only selected our Senior Patrol Leader, I would appreciate it if our previous leadership team would assist Kelly with preparing our programming for our next trip 7/18-19, which is canoeing in MS. The Dragon Patrol is required to come to this meeting.

In addition, I would like to ask our scouts to take time Wednesday to evaluate the recent Summer Camp. What went well? What could be improved? This exercise is a very valuable tool for the troop to ensure that each event is as successful as possible. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

Note that all boys are invited to come to Wednesday's meeting to give your input, and to sign up for any leadership positions.

Thanks for such a great Summer Camp.

Mr. Dan

For all those who were with us for part or all of last week, I would like to collect any input you would like to give regarding summer camp. As much as possible, please be constructive. Send your comments or completed form to me so I can consolidate and forward to Council.

In addition to the evaluation for camp, if you have any (again, constructive) input into how everything ran from the troop's perspective, or me personally, please don't hesitate to share these thoughts, too.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Dan

You guys are Star rank or higher so I would like to extend this invitation to you guys to attend the National Youth Leadership Training Conference. The details of the conference are below, as is the invitation to Kelly as the new Senior Patrol Leader for the troop. Troop 64 values all the training opportunities offered for our scouts and adults and this is a great national program that we want to take advantage of. Please check your schedules and talk with Kelly to see if two or three of you can go together and represent Troop 64. I need to know soon so we reserve our space.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

This is a great training and networking opportunity for our existing and future leaders of the troop. The troop's commitment is that we will pay the first $100 towards the registration cost of $195, which leaves $95 for you to pay. Do the dates work into your summer schedule? Is there a reason why you can't attend? This would be a great experience for you and something you can bring back to the troop for us all to benefit from for the next couple years. Now, if you can talk another boy or two into going up with you, we will make the same $100 commitment (maximum of 3 total) to them too. Check out the information below and let me know what you think. I'm going to forward this email to all the Star Scouts, and above, this evening so hopefully there will be lots of interest.
