INFORMATION IN THIS FLYER IS NEW. PLEASE READ ALL OF IT!
OPEN TO ALL CATHOLIC BOY SCOUTS, VENTURERS, EXPLORERS AND SCOUTERS!!!
 
1. Who should attend? All Catholic Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts, or Explorers (male or female). While the retreat is the only Scout retreat for this year, and will fulfill the retreat requirements for the Ad Altare Dei or Pope Pius XII awards, it is not limited to those who plan to earn the awards. The retreat is for all Boy Scout age youth, and the content of the retreat changes every year.
 
2. Is there a program for Adult Leaders? Yes! We are pleased to offer a great course for all adults, male and female, be they parents or Scouters, on Catholi c Scouter Formation and religious emblem counselor instruction. All religious emblems counselors must be recertified through the Catholic Committee every 3 years.
 
3. What is the cost? $20.00 per person (youth or adult), if paid before September 24 and $25.00 if paid after September 24, if space is available. NO YOUTH WILL BE REFUSED BECAUSE HE OR SHE CANNOT PAY. Please advise us if you need financial assistance. (Pre-Gustav deadline Sept 19)
 
4. How do we register? Unit leaders should complete the attached form and mail it in with a list of the youth and adults attending. Co-ed Venturing Crews, Ships and Posts must ensure that appropriate 2-deep co-ed leadership is present. Make your check payable to the CATHOLIC COMMITTEE ON SCOUTING. Mail your forms and check to Susan Guidry, 1509 Madison St., Metairie, LA 70001. For additional information e-mail Susan Guidry at sfguidry@prodigy.net  or call at 838-8130 or Charlene Mauterer at 241-8751.   It is important that we get at least the names and ages of those planning to attend as soon as possible.  Please e-mail these to Susan Guidry as soon as possible.
                     
5. **What to bring: .This is a one day event.  Class A uniform will be worn for opening & closing flag ceremonies, & Mass. Class B shirt may be worn underneath for the purposes of the round robin sessions during the day and a possible service project in the afternoon. Do not bring footballs, radios, tape players or knives; If found, these items may be held by the committee and returned at the end of the day.   
 
6. **If a priest is available, we will end  Retreat with a Saturday evening Mass,  Time of Mass is still to be determined, depending o n the availability of a priest. An e-mail will be sent out to all participants if and when the confirmation is made. The Committee encourages and invites the parents and relatives of all retreat participants to come and join the celebration of this Mass.
 
 
7. **Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning – Opening session will begin at 9:00 a.m.  Depending on the possibility of Mass, retreat will end no later than 9:00 p.m.
 
8. A Personal Health and Medical Record, form 1, 2 or 3, is required for each participant, including youth and adult. This form must be turned in to Retreat Staff when you arrive at camp, or may be attached to the registration you submit to the Catholic Committee. The form must have been completed within the last 12 months. Legible photocopies are acceptable. IF THERE ARE ANY SPECIAL MEDICAL NEEDS PLEASE LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE, SO THAT PROPER ACCOMIDATION CAN BE MADE.
 
9. All units attending the retreat must have a copy of their Medical/Accident Policy or provide proof of individual coverage to submit to the Retreat Staff upon arrival.
 
10. Each unit should submit a local tour permit to Council Services, and should bring the approved tour permit to the retreat, along with the unit’s medical forms and insurance information.
